The Rocky Flats Citizens Advisory Board is looking for interested citizens to help make decisions on environmental cleanup at Rocky Flats.
The Rocky Flats Environmental Technology Site northwest of Denver has several years of work ahead to clean up the environment and manage hazardous and radioactive materials. To increase involvement from those affected by the cleanup process, an independent Citizens Advisory Board (RFCAB) was formed in 1993. RFCAB provides policy and technical advice to the Department of Energy, the Environmental Protection Agency, and the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment.
No special skills are required to serve on the Board other than the ability to represent the views of one of the following groups:
- health care professionals
- area residents
- past or current Rocky Flats workers
- business community
- environmental organizations or public interest groups
- educators or academic institutions
- local government
- technical disciplines
Our volunteer members are expected to commit approximately 10-15 hours per month to Board activities, which includes attendance at monthly Board meetings, active participation on one working committee, and keeping up-to-date on Rocky Flats issues by reading written materials.
We have an online application form if you would like to apply right now.
